Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup water

  • 3 1/2 cups berries (or fruit of your choice– prepared accordingly)- fresh or frozen*
  • juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • pinch of salt
(Optional ingredients- 1 tsp. vanilla extract or the seeds of one vanilla bean and/or 1 tbsp. Grand Marnier or rum).

*I used rasperries, blueberries, blackberries, and currants

    Instructions:
In a sauce pan, combine the water and sugar, whisking to disolve the sugar, bringing the mixture to a boil. Add berries, lemon juice & salt. Lower heat to simmer. Let cook for ten minutes, stirring occasionally. Store in a glass container or serve immediately. This recipe should keep for about two weeks in the refrigerator. Serve with crêpes, ice cream, or whatever floats your boat. Enjoy!
